United Nations of 'UP Africa' travelers -5 visitors in one day!
« on: January 08, 2016, 02:44:53 pm »
An Australian couple (Craig Munro and Jennifer Wang) popped in to the Flying Brick Store this morning, needed a fair bit of stuff attaching to their Honda 250L's (his and hers!), and whilst they were in the shop, a British couple (Jimmy Howe and Helen Lloyd) popped in, looking for a tank-bag, and the two couples - who did not know each other - swapped route details and phone numbers, and whilst THEY were chatting, an American chap dropped in for some stuff...

the Australian couple had matching  rear luggage racks fabricated for their 250L's, so will now stock a set or two, in case they are needed going forward).

So, 3 groups, in at once, all leaving on their trips up Africa, within 7 - 10 days; I was GREEN with envy!
(must be 'riding season'  ;) )

Guys, travel safe up into Africa, and have a blast.
(some of them have already finished South-East Asia, as well as North America).

Cheers

they are Australian, so have bought across the well-known (and loved) 'AndyStrapz' pannier bags - they will pop in next week or so with panniers installed, and I'll take a pic or two, and post it up.

If you want to see them, you can look here: http://www.andystrapz.com/products-details.php?productId=35&productCategoryId=22&Level=1

I went accross and met Andy, nice bloke, but importing stuff from Oz is HELLISHLY expensive...
Cheers!

Chris you should have an extra page on your website entitled international visitors.
Then a photo with the date of visit and where they are off to.
Maybe also list their website or blog if they have one.
Just a thought.

They are great bikes for traveling around the 250's - I got one after my KLR - cant notice much difference ;) just lighter to pick up  .
Chris could you try get some more photies of the rack if you don't mind , need to fabricate one myself and they look good and simple , also of the CRF you showed me at your work with the fuel tank in the rack - got me buying a fuel tank from you , wouldn't mind seeing that pic again .
Cheers

Bossie and Wrenchie rode from London to Cape town on Honda 250's that they bought second hand. So no, you dont need much more than a 250.
Look for a shooting star and see Lynda's trail and remember all the great places you shared with her,she will never forget what she shared with you and will show you that in every starry night .

Acerbis and IMS have 3.1 gal tanks for the CRF250L.

There are pictures of both these tanks fitted on this page on advrider
