Fellow dogs, my dad asked me to find out a bit more about this bike. Somebody he knows want to buy the bike but he is concerned about the age and the kilo's. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I probably should add that I'm not talking about a specific bike. The info is more based on an BMW of that kind. Anybody with experience of these machines and how heavy they ate on your pocket to maintain.

Can only talk about the 1150 GS which has the same motor and gearbox.
Only one word for the 1150 ....BRILLIANT.
Totally reliable, easy to service, and a pleasure to own. If I was to buy a big road touring bike ...The 1150 RT would definitely be the one.

Does the age and kilo's matter at all?

Like any bike , it depends on how well it was looked after.
A properly  looked after 1150 will do a huge amount of mileage .
Age is not really a factor , as long as the bike has not stood idle for long periods. Boxer motors or any motor for that matter need to run to stop seals drying out and cracking.
2004 is not considered old for a BMW. My 1999 model has 155000 km on the clock and runs like clock work , uses absolutely no oil between services.
