my take part 2:
so we had our now famous cuppacione stop,,,discussed each others bikes and latest additions,,,hmmm, jules that hooter is loud,,,,then road stays very lekka for about 10 kms when we start hitting the granite koppies in the Bethanie area,,,,,man there are some great little paths leading between where they cut out the country's kitchen tops,,,i actually went up one of those koppies to be told u have just 20 min before the farmer comes with the shotgun,,
after the koppies it turns into my fav roads,,,a road with cattle dung on it is always a great road,,,we weave and turn some great roads until we get to the tar road which we turn into and its 10 kms to beestekraal stasie ,,,,,
all along the trip so far i see more and more lekka roads leading off and i can help wonder where they lead too,,,in fact right at the beginning we cross a railway track and next to it is a road that goes straight to beestekraal stasie,,,hmmm,,,maybe next time,,,
at beestekraal we sit on the porch and wave back at all the other motorists that ride pass and greet,,,we meet other bikers and some 4x4 people as well,,,,,we start a wilddog graffiti on the wall and write down everyones nicname that is there,,,,so if you get there add yours as well,,,hmmm,,,note to myself,,,next time i go i must remember to take white paint with to fix up all my spelling mistakes
from there a-mx takes the lead and we cross over the north canal and head towards "the rock",,,i liked the sand dirt roads and the speed,,,,we start seeing rural housing and then the "rock" comes into your vision,,,doesnt look so daunting from afar and as we near u start to realise it aint a molehill....we stop at the tough start and see the total impractibility of even trying it,,,we hunbly move to the easy access and then you realise that "easy" is not the right word,,,its still damm tough and its fearfactor frightening,,,,,a-mx goes first followed by franke and his ktm and then its me,,,,,didnt wanna think about it and actually i was suprised as to what the bike can do,,,,,staying in first slowly without stalling and picking the line is all that counts,,,you only stop at the top and wait for the adrenaline and the heart thumping out of my chest to relax a bit,,,,then the rest follows and all with success,,,we spend some time on top to recall our breaths and excitement,,,take photos and we go down again and everybody makes it without mishaps,,,,,we gladly pay the R2 toll fee and we seperate into groups to go back to home,,,
i go alone and hit that long long dirt road to the brits road and enjoy it tremendously,,,i cross the north canal path and decide to ride it backwards to my home,,,what a lekka day
some days are diamonds,,,this is one of them,,,thank you to all
ps...
so dudes,,,whats next,,,hmmm,,,i have lotsa ideas,,,,i have many many roads in my head,,,lets get people to ride them,,,i suggested that we do the west, stop over at beestekraal, then go to the top of the north canal, come down till the road that takes us to "the rock",,,spend some time,,,come back the long (i think its the dikololo) gravel road, turn into the north canal road and follow it al the way backwards till harties,,,,
