A nice pit stop on the Ouberg road

We got a invite from  a friend of a friend to a little sheep farm about 80km out of Montague on the Ouberg rd and took a ride out this last w/end. Leaving CT to go over Franshoek to the Scherpenheuwel rd to take us to Robertson it was pretty clear we were in for some hot weather-b4 Franshoek it was 30deg at 8h40 already. As we had this planned for last w/end and changed at no 99 due to weather not everybody could make the second run for this weekend and only 3 of us from CT and were to be joined by 4 of Montagues finest. Some roadworks on the Scherpenheuwel gravel kept us in check with a powder dust that gives freedom to to the front tyre. We ran into these two clowns as we tied the bags down in a shady spot- 5L of Langberg Stein was on the menu and these poor guys were broken already with squint eyes and missing eyeballs being the standard- unfortunately no good skills of camera man could not show the damages. Arriving at Montague at 'happyhoenerfontein' we met up with with the rest and set off onto Ouberg rd after lunch organised by the Chief kreef inspector.

Temp was going up slowly but surely and prettys soon we were in 36 to 40deg (time to take off the jerseys some would say) En route we stopped and topped up water where we were joined by Mike on his blits vinnige new 1290. We arrived on the farm after 4 and after a quick introduction to very nice people settled at the 12 sleep guest house. Two double beds and about 8 singles, two bathrooms and sorted kitchen with fridges  packed with ices and our braaipaks awaited us there. The nice old building was a perfect setting  looking down over the the farm from the lapa braai was a view and a half.
