We did a quick 400km odd ride on Wednesday and it was rather hot outside, I guess at least 38 deg C. I recently bought a dipstick from XR's Only, which incorporates an oil temp gauge.
During Wednesday's ride, I kept an eye on the gauge and I would like some opinions on what would be acceptable, as far as oil temps go.
Doing 100 - 110km/h on the dirt, I saw an average oil temp of 235 deg F or 113 deg C and doing 120 - 130km/h on tar, it increased to 255 deg F or 123 deg C.
For some or other reason, I'm thinking this is a bit too high, or is this an acceptable or normal oil temp for a XRL?
