Time for the fun & games :laughing4:

Apologies if already posted but I see Manuel Lucchese's Yamaha WR 450 F is a brand new 2012 model!  Bought himself and turned down a factory ride from a lesser known bike because he knows the Yamaha. Minimal mods (according to him) fuel tanks, exhaust (due to rear tank) and handle bar mounted nav system.

Joey on his way ?

I think he's leaving on the 28th?

He flew out last night 2240. Lantam airlines to San Paulo then onto Asuncion.
There's a race of men that don't fit in, A race that can't stay still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, And they roam the world at will.
They range the field and they rove the flood, And they climb the mountain's crest; Theirs is the curse of the gypsy blood, And they don't know how to rest.                                                   Robert Service

It is going to be an epic Dakar! So many fast riders.

Honda: Barreda Bort, Benavides, Brabec, Goncalves.

Husky: Quintanilla, Sunderland.

KTM: Ramirez, Walkner, Price.

Yamaha: Botturi, Rodrigues, Beveren,

Sherco: Garcia.

Slovnaft: Svitko.

Name a wild card that is not on the list that you think can do a stage podium.  :thumleft:

Slovnaft: Svitko.  :thumleft:
What bike is the Slovnaft ?

Slovnaft is his sponsor - Slovakian petrol & lubricant company (similar to Castrol, Repsol, etc)
I expect he will be riding a KTM 450 RR, as usual......

I think it is between Barreda and Price. Barreda if he can get to the finish.

Do not forget Gonk.

Oh please yes, I would be soooooo chuffed if he won. I don't mind orange, but it's time for another colour at the top of the podium.
Barreda seems to have chilled a bit, less balls-to-the-wall and more brain, but I am still pissed with him for not finishing last year.
My ideal podium:

Gonk
Price. He's not an alien yet, but he's damn good.
Quintanilla, because I like the reliability of the Huskies and he's slippery quick.

From Joey:
KTM sticker kit done and dusted👍🏻 Awesome kit thanks to Bandit Graphics.
Tomorrow we add the spares, tools and a sweet set of the new Cycra hand guards.😎
MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the names on the bike for your support as well as all the companies that have sponsored me. It would have been an impossible dream without your help.

I'll be following Lyndon Poskitt with interest. Have a look at https://web.facebook.com/LyndonPoskittRacing/, he's been having an interesting time riding around the world. He's riding Malle Moto, which is admirable, and mad.

"With 6 months left, I had 2 options. I had to make a choice. The easiest option was to take 2 steps back, get in the crowd, hide and leave the Dakar dream hanging there and continue with my life. But i said no. I went for the hardest option. To carry-on knocking on every door. Eventually doors started to open"

I will be shouting long and hard for Vinny, and I suspect I won't be alone.
