I see Hayden on the list so it can't be very current. Shame, he was wishing for a 2-stoke but got an old Fireblade instead  >:D .

And his lap times around Phillip Island on his "old Fireblade" was within milliseconds of his times during the 2015 Phillip Island MotoGP on the brand spanking new, MotoGP Honda.

Then maybe BMW should start racing their "Safety Bike", it might be faster than a few satellite RCV's  :imaposer:

Maybe that is why BMW is only allowed to be safety bike?

Remember, poor Hayden did not even have a satellite Honda.  He had a Open Class customer bike.  I get the impression these Open Class customer bikes were CBR600R's made to look like RCV's!   :lol8:

Thankfully, from this year onward, no more factory class and open class.  All the same with the same ECU, giving the satellite and customer bikes a better chance to get a tad closer.

I would not like to see the 4strokes go, they are wonderful machines in their own right, I would like to see 2strokes of a max capacity of 800cc partake in the same race.

They could also add a class.  Remember MotoGP when it had 50cc, 125cc, 250cc, 350cc and the 500cc class.

Also a good idea.  Angel Nieto days.

Old age or 690 ownership that suddenly turned you into a reasonable member of society?

Only as long as BMW doesn't participate in MotoGP (2 or 4-stroke)!   :imaposer:

Also, if my understanding is correct, Danie is not a 690 owner.

Yes, get that right, my 690 did not last long enough to reach my avatar. :imaposer:

I am still on my Yamaha XT600E, which is a 4stroke. I never disliked 4strokes, I just like 2strokes much more.

I have to say, if I could only afford one bike, it would be a 4-stroke.  As I grew older my taste moved to lots of low down torque.  If I could afford I would have a 2-stroke just for the occasional fun ride.

I still love the sound, smell and feel of a 2-stroke.
