On the last lap he was 3/10's up on the best time till he caught traffic.

Bodes well!

Brad goes all #BRADICAL on Mugello!  What a ride.

Best time to rake 25 points is on the day when your two biggest rivals rakes zero.

What makes this one so epic?  Winning a race after you have been bumped three times, your two main rivals did not get any points and the first 15 bikes were just under 2 seconds from each other over the finish line.  Great stuff.  Check this photo finish for spots 3, 4 and 5.

Agreed with all of you, he is SUCH a more all-round rider this year.. He's not letting them push him around, he's holding his positions, taking the knocks, and pressing forward when he needs to. Maturity has set in.. We should hopefully see him in MotoGP in 2 years time, and I sincerely hope he gets a proper team offer, and not a sub-standard offer.

Go Brad. #41.

I remember watching Melandri, Biaggi, Rossi, all dicing it out in the same 125 class, and Brad brings back similar memories.

Indeed!  Awesome and hard fought battles all round.

I am hoping for a slightly slower path to MotoGP.   At least 2017 and 2018 in Moto 2.  I am hoping he would be part of Ajo Racing's Moto 2 effort.  Johann Zarco, the reigning World Champion is in the Ajo Racing Team.  This is the same Ajo for who Binder is racing in Moto 3.

It is my opinion that, should Brad win 2016, he should move on to 600's and then onto MGP speedily.

He has the package of talent, hunger and determination. Rossi also did not stay long in any class below MGP.

The point is to get into a top team each time.

I believe 2 years in Moto 2 at least.  Do you think it should be less?

Rossi spend 2 years in each lower class (125 and 250) before moving up.  He could have spend 1 years in 250 before moving, but chose to stay the 2nd year.   During this 2nd year he became the World Champion and could sort of demand a spot in a top team.

As you said, the critical factor is moving to a top team.  We see good riders like Alex Marquez (Moto 2), Tito Rabat, Jack Miller and others going nowhere fast because they are not in a top team when they move up.

That was a real champions ride.

I cannot imagine the stress levels (do they have stress?) riding in a race like that. Literally being swamped at the end of the main straight on every lap. But he was clever enough to know that, so made sure he wasn't leading at the start of the last trip down the main straight.

Crazy is what he called it, crazy is what it was. And brilliant.
