« on: March 09, 2016, 01:32:11 pm »
Been looking at the adventure scene with some interest of late. Can get this 2012 GS for around R110K...6600kms

Decent price?
Good points?
Bad points?

Thanks all... :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

So what are you waiting for, hurry and go buy it, spoil yourself with a great bike.
Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to rank amongst those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.

looks like a nice clean bike...

i feel the 'handguards' are set too high - see the levers sticking out the bottom...
someone has taken the time to ADD winglets, which do not come out standard on that bike, only on the GSA...

Do yourself ONE favor - speak to a BMW dealer about the price on a new 1200LC 'TROPHY' model, fewer frills and buttons than a full-spec bike, but something to consider...

Cheers

I'm going to agree with Chris on this one, something not right with the handguard...easy adjustment. This guy obviosly did not like wind very much, hence the aftermarket screen and deflectors. I sold a 2011 last year with 65000km on the clock for R90 000 last year. Also have had that exact shad box on the back of a 2008 and they are great......go get it.....good buy. :ricky: :ricky: :ricky: :ricky: :ricky:

yes, the DOHC was thought to be a MUCH better product than the SOHC.

Marginally more horses.

For me the biggest plus was the very nice and smooth gearbox compared to the previous model.

Handguards seem fine in terms of condition.  Adjusted too high, but easily adjustable anyway.

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated  :thumleft: :thumleft:

Yeah, don't know whats up with the levers and guards, however easily adjusted. Looks like bar raisers on there too.....

Yep.  Definitely bar raisers.

With the minute amount of kilos, the look of the bike from the pics, it looks like a good buy.
