Just fitted my new ripstop seat with removable armrests, a waterproof tonneau cover for security from prying eyes and to keep out the rain... and some new spotlights with an independent on / off switch in the cockpit, the tabs above the spots on the bullbar will be removed.

I have been watching your progress from the start of your project and believe it is one of the best i have seen. I think its the way to go as soon as these old legs cant keep the bmw up any more. I can see me riding our rig with my walking stick and tent loaded in the sidecar

I was in the boat building factory yesterday... really excited to see my new sidecar body being prepared for the mould, should have the first finished product out in the next 10 days or so... its an expensive process but the end result is going to be amazing!

First one out is going to a serious dualsport riding guy in Cape Town, he had a bad motorcycling accident a few years ago and thought his off-road riding days were over... not anymore! :ricky:

Nice.  What is your fuel consumption with the rig?

It obviously depends on how you ride with your rig but I average 14 km/litre

Would you recommend fitting the rig on a GSA only or would it be equally suited to a standard GS1200?

A standard 1200 GS would be fine... also the 1150 GS is a good puller for these sidecars.

We feel the sadness you're obviously going through loosing your girl.
She gave you good memories and she was lucky to have spent time with you.

Sorry to hear of your loss Keith, Tau was a very special girl.
Love is the feeling you get when you like something as much as your motorcycle.
