I take it you are now happy?  I feel for your situation, I have been kept waiting before as well.  BUT, I wouldn't take a mans panniers like that though.  WTF do you want with two sets?  ???

Oh the insurance paid him directly, and I paid him the excess in good faith.

Weird that an insurance company pay a non-contracted supplier directly without him
supplying an invoice for services delivered.

A quote is one thing, but an invoice means the product has been delivered already.

Hope it works for you Toni  :thumleft:

Having replied to you, he's clearly aware of the situation & this thread, but has chosen not to state his side of the story.

Personally, I started using his services because of his outstanding reputation on this forum, and like everyone says, he's a nice enough fellow, but I've not had good service from him in the year that he was my go-to guy.

His communication is non existent.
I never got any info out of him without me chasing him for it first.

He never once stuck to a date that he gave, in fact I don't think there was even a situation with only 1 delay. Dates always get pushed out more than once.

His work ethic is not good either.
When he is at the shop, and not "out buying parts", he will not get stuck into the job at hand, even with a customer waiting.
It's just endless small talk, distractions and excuses, no business.

If his reputation is genuine, then he's lost something since then.

My bike is now with someone else, and I haven't had to call them.
 -you know why...
Because he called me!

I'm much happier so far, and will not be going back.

Today I got a phone call assuring me everything will be as discussed, then got this from him.

Hi Toni

I have just seen the post on the forum , I don't blame you , I was at fault , but I would like to clear up a few things .
Firstly , I did tell you in the beginning that I would need the insurance to pay out before I could get all the spares , remember we fought with them for almost 8 weeks before they paid .
Secondly , the parts that I loaned from a clients bike was done with the clients permission , I have never taken a part off a clients bike without their permission .
Thirdly , I did supply a luggage plate , the KTM unit , but that wasn't big enough which is why I have made the other plate .
Fourthly , I had ordered the grey panniers , as you informed me a few weeks ago these are discontinued , the dealer I use has never informed me of this .
I would really appreciate if you could please amend this on your post .

We don't even know who this other wild dog is, so why does it matter when it's all anonymous?
I think you guys need to meet over a beer and sort your differences out.

If that doesn't work, approach a small claims court.

But I feel it's better not to air your dirty laundry here.

I got the feeling some members know who the mechanic is?  and I also got the feeling that things are now under control?

I sometimes recommend a mechanic here....if it's him I'd certainly like to know so that I stop recommending him. Please pm me if you'd like to tell me who it is. I certainly don't want to recommend someone like this.

Seriously? Isn't that being a bit facetious? Surely your recommendation is based on the service levels that you receive, not that which others receive. I imagine they can make up their own mind.
