So, we've all the seen the documentary about "WHY WE RIDE" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2960470/ and we've all replayed it. But this morning on the way to work I could not get the idea out of my head, so here are the top 5 reasons why I ride. This is not bike or brand specific. Please feel free to add....
1. I get a "chubby" every morning when I press the start button and I hear " chi chi whoooooooo"
2. 5.3l/100km without trying.
3. I can do a faster quarter mile than an M3
4. I get to go to places where most can't and most don't even know exist.
5. I get to take photos like the below.
6. I have a complete sense of peace and calm when I climb on and just go for ride. The other day I rode to "ridgebacks" in centurion for a beer. There are at least 1062 establishment that sell beer in a 5km radius from my house and they all taste the same, yet we will drive miles upon miles to weird and wonderful place to have a coffee or a beer and it always tastes better than the one close to home. Legend has it that a friend of mine had new tires put on his Tenere and to try them out he asked his wive to pack him a sandwich, he was going for a little ride. He had his sandwich on the beach in uMhlanga and drove back to Randburg.......
