Anyone have an update for us of his condition?

Hi Silvrav

HeavyMetal is still in hospital. He is very sore and they are giving him lots of Pethidine.

Other than that he is ok. The physio got him to walk a couple a couple of steps and she seems happy with the progress.

He is going to be fine, but I reckon he will be in pain for a couple of weeks still.

Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Keep at the Physio, HeavyMetal! Ask for the morphine or Pethidine before you need it and don't be shy about it.
Clinicians can contact the clinicians' hotline number on 0800 111 131 (for doctors only); and, in addition to 0800 029 999, the public can also contact the public hotline number on 0800 111 132. These lines all operate 24 hours a day.

I do not comment on these types of threads often.

Heavy Metal - good luck . Hope you heal up quickly and without issues. Hope the insurance sorts out your bike without issues.

I have often sat behind a cager who goes of on left making me think that they are giving me space to pass only to have them then come back into the lane when they look up from their cellphones.

I am very weary of passing anybody on single lane traffic with vehicle approaching from ahead.

What I am saying is that maybe the person in the cage was not even aware of Heavy Metal and went of on the left because he/she was texting , changing radio station , dropped a cigarette between his/her legs or any other stupid scenario and then came back into their lane pushing him into oncoming traffic.

Be careful guys. You need to ride to keep yourself alive. No one else will do it for you.

Thanks for all the well  wishes, doing much better, it'll just take time. Even though it is a shitty incident, it has once again showed how awesome people can be when the shit hits the fan, like the lady traffic cop that came to visit me in hospital just to see how i was doing, and many others.

Now to start looking for a new bike!! The quote to repair my bike is R 298 655.42 ..... that is for a 2007GSA.   ;D Crazy!!!
