..... tell me more about that fuel tank!!

well, they are making Africa Twin CAMEL tanks in two different 'ways'....

the fist way is by utilizing the new, but existing 1050/1190/120 KTM CAMEL tank, and just modifying the BRACKET(s) to fit the Africa Twin exactly...

Long term - 6 - 12 months - they will likely design a SPECIFIC tank, but in all reality, it will be very close to the 1050/1190/1290 tank...

they are EXTREMELY durable - you may want to watch this video...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JAISp4bbyo

we are expecting volume to be around 6L, definitely not less...

they plug & play, no pumps, etc, usually no drilling, etc.

More questions, just ask!

Cheers

new Africa Twin windscreen options now available at Flying Brick...

1. CRF 1000 L AFRICA TWIN - Sport-Screen "SP" 2016-
The MRA sports screen is a real eye-catcher with its zippy 38 cm height, the
focus clearly laid on aesthetics. Shapely, racy and dynamic, the screen
blends in perfectly with the overall visual appeal of the Africa Twin.

2. CRF 1000 L AFRICA TWIN - Touring windshield "T" 2016-
The MRA touring screen is 8 cm longer and 7.8 cm wider than the original
screen (total length: 53 cm). However, the secret lies in the shape of the
screen – unlike the original and most other accessory screens, the middle
of the MRA touring screen curves in towards the driver to avoid buffeting
and turbulence at the edge of the screen, ensuring an even and smooth
airflow almost without any noise or vibration around the helmet. The MRA
screen’s greater width is more effective at shielding the arms and
shoulders, while the large air vent in the lower central part of the screen
ensures effective ventilation

3. CRF 1000 L AFRICA TWIN - Variotouringscreen "VT" 2016-
The MRA Vario touring screen consists of a touring screen as its main
screen with all of its benefits, plus a Vario touring screen spoiler at the
upper end that adjusts in seven steps. This allows the airflow between the
screen and VT spoiler to fan out to a greater or lesser degree, further
reducing wind pressure without causing turbulence – the best conditions
for a relaxed ride, even on long tours.

Enquiries? drop us an e-mail...

And we now have an Africa Twin in-store, a Demo model, which will next week be fitted with one of the 3 screens, as well as crash bars, bash plate, rear pannier rack, orange head light protector, etc...
Cheers!

Ordered in a stainless, black-coated REMUS slip -on silencer for a customer - he fitted it himself, and we REALLY think it is the coolest looking thing since sliced bread!

Around R7.5K

(they also do a shiny stainless slip-on, and Titanium, etc).

Now.... to fit one on our in-store Demo bike!

Cheers

Those are Honda OEM bars.

Rockfox also manufacture engine protection for those bars. R 1500.00 incl RRP (see pic)

Mike also do Tops, and bottoms , bashplate and luggage racks and wider footpegs.

All directly available from Rockfox.co.za or one of the many dealers.

The only one on the Rockfox website is much bigger:

The one Adie posted looks better to me, and more like the Honda OEM. The Honda one sells for R6300...

Losper the Rumbux looks impressive but I want something simpler that does not destroy the nice lines of the bike. Might regret it when I drop the bike, but lets hope thats not soon.

Going to email Rockfox for some clarity.

added Pivot-style foot-pegs, R995 per set, they have 15-degrees of rear float and 15-degrees of front float, and a MUCH better platform size....

1 problem with the Africa Twin foot-pegs is not JUST that they are incredibly small, but they are super-close 'in' to the body-work of the bike, meaning a cramped cockpit.

Pictures show the 15-degree 'float' both front and rear...

A bigger issue with the AT is that it looks as if the footpeg pivot point are wider than other bikes.  Any aftermarket pegs will actually hit the shin and calf much more when maneuvering the bike whilst sitting on.

We also noticed that some pegs actually decrease the gap between the peg front and the gear/brake levers due to the width increase. (We had the same issue with our first design :-(

In the end I bought the Honda OEM crash bars as I liked the look the most. The Rumbux seemed the most comprehensive protection and the Rockfox really good value for money and inexpensive. The Honda I thought initially was way overpriced but when I downloaded the installation instructions it seemed more justified with 2 cross supports attached to the frame.

All the install manuals are here http://cssportal.css-club.net/honda/MCA/Start.asp?GROUP=oth

Crash bars are called "Front Side Pipe"

The Honda ones are incredibly light. When mine arrived I thought there were none in the box that arrived the box was so light. The Rumbux are Heavy at least an extra 5KGs.
