So I got my XR500 running with the 3rd Starter-coil that was done by someone else.
Been running for a month no problems. Engine run in and busy with minor carbs setting.
Got home on Monday and stopped at the gate and engine died. Tried kicking it but nothing.
Pushed to the garage and start looking for loose wires. Nothing so tested the starter-coil. Dead like in !@#$ #@$# @#$%$^$#@ mors ##@$ dood. And yes that was the amount I was swearing.
Strip the cover and found this Smiling at me. Photos as bottom.
Questions I have.
1. Can you run it without this thin plate that was pasted or clipped to the magnets.?
2. With what can I replace the thin peace of plate?
