Some Questions on DR650
« on: April 18, 2016, 07:54:02 am »
I got a DR60 for good price needs some TLC. I have some questions:
1. Can I replace main yet for bigger one and enlarge airbox still with original exhaust?
2. When driving say below 60-80km/h, it surges or some calls it hunting, is it maybe running
to lean, carb   seems clean, and air cleaner is clean?
Thanks.

1 Why?

2: In which gear are you? In case you are in fifth accept the fact that a DR650SE does not like low revs and will shake like a wet dog if you try to labour the engine. Gear down! Ride your DR in third at least to 60km/h and in fourth to 90.

In case the bike REALLY surges (slight & repeated acceleration /deceleration) at very small throttle openings (constant throttle open less than 1/4 but engine running smoothly and not labouring) then have a look at the idle mix adjustment screw. It is very likely turned to far out.
