So, I'm done transplanting a CRF450 front end onto my XRL! 
Taking the time, effort and cost into account, I'll probably not repeat the exercise, but judging the substantial improvement in the ride, I probably will. Among others, I had to make a new front axle to enable me to use the XR's wheel, new spacer and nut for the axle, adapter to enable me to fit the XR's caliper to the CRF's fork (the mounting holes are not the same), new mounting plate for the speedo/ignition and so on.
I still need to fit the two front indicators on horn this morning and over time, I'll sort out the speedo cable and brake line routing and securing and I'm going to fit fork protectors.
Oh, and maybe I'll look into making a new dash and fitting an electronic speedo... and then there's the very nice fairing/light combination from the guys down in the Cape... I guess I'm not finished then! :biggrin: :biggrin:
