Update: Husky TE610 Valvetrain Rebuild

I seem to have excessive axial runout (play) on the exhaust valve rocker. The inlet valve rocker has about 0.3mm runout but the exhaust side is about 1mm and when pushed towards the left the arms sit offcentre on the valves. I have been through the workshop manual and can't find any spec on this.
Does anyone know if this is normal?
Has anyone experienced this before and how did you fix it?
I see from the parts catalogue the washers for the rocker shaft are available in different thicknesses to take up runout on the shaft but I haven't stripped cam cover to take a look if this will sort out the runout on the rocker as well.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Sidetrack. Looks like I should pull the rockers and shafts and have a look while I'm in there. I think I'm going to end up shimming the rocker on the shaft to take up the play.

Stripped the rockers last night and turns out I need to replace the cam followers, rocker bushes and shafts. Really bad wear on the intake cam follower.

Getting new shafts made up by an engineering shop for R800 (for both). Using EN19t and they will be case hardened, so I don't expect to have to change them ever again. I don't know what the Italians used for the stock shafts but the material was clearly not up to the task.

The engineering company making the shafts for me are doing this as a favour as the company I work for does a lot of business with them. They don't normally do this sort of work. I can however recommend Manhattan Tools (http://www.mantools.co.za/wp/). They have done similar work for me in the past.
