21 hours straight ! Wow !  :o He just carries on and on , he is unstoppable   :thumleft:

Now I am actually glad the stage was cancelled, so Joey can get some much-needed rest . Tomorrow he will be as fresh as a daisy again .  :ricky:

This is from Joey Evens wife :

I got to hear from Joey at 3:55am our time thanks to Darryl who went and found him with his team at the Bivouac and hooked him up to some wifi (Darryl you're freaking awesome❤) He had a really hard stage which involved two really bad falls, the first one was just before the start of the neutralized section and he dinged up his front wheel quite badly, luckily his team were able to swop the wheel for him during that time. Then another one during the second part of the special resulting in him loosing his clutch...he ended up having to literally walk his bike to the bivouac and got there at around 11pm. He's mentally and physically exhausted and he's hurting too. His mechanic took his bike straight away and it will all be ready again for today's stage. He said its going to be another long and hard stage again today and he just wanted to sleep so that he can get to that finish line. He's not been able to get online since Sunday other to phone me via WhatsApp and so hasn't seen FB or messages but I've told him how much support he's receiving back home. Plenty of prayers needed today for my boy to remain focused and get through today❤❤ I've not had more than 50 minutes sleep so I'm hoping the info I've given you about his bike is correct about what he did to it as my memory is mush right now🙈😉 He said today's stage is going to be tough but it's one more day closer to the finish line🇿🇦❤✊🏻"

Thanks Andy 660  :thumleft:

GO JOEY

Thanks Rynette!

Joey has a HECTIC Stage 10. But he is still in there. Talks about Peterhansel taking out the other rider.

Love Darryl's sense of humour. :lol2

Joey via whatsapp:

They think the whole frame might be bent. It's going on the boat as we speak so will find out how bad in a couple of weeks. All I can say it is corners left like a demon!!!

Joey has some more video for us now that he is back in the world.

We all know his bike was run over a by a car on Stage 12. I think he took these two photos in shock before realizing the he had better get what was left off the road.

Petrol in the sand.   :(
