Looks a at least a bit technical to me! Nice ride home it looks like BD  :drif: I took the tar home from Willowmore, my gloves were wet and arse sore.

Pieter - Baviaans proper (and the best part) is the Reserve area, and yes is far more technical and spectacular than just the ride in to Dooringkloof from Willowmore. No-one can really claim they have 'done Baviaans' until they have ridden right through.

Thanks To Gerhad and his crew for another successful Doringkloof Bash.
I had a good group of riders , thanks to all of you for making the trip a success .

BUT , we didnt all get home on our bikes ,

Due to the wet roads , our Group wasnt as quick as we usually are , so we only got to KTM Kevs 15km long sandy, rocky , 8 gate driveway in the dark.
Without a long story , lets just say the buck didnt get hit by Kevs KTM990, but Kev did get trapped under his bike for some 45 minutes in the pitch black dark, and he did brake his collar bone,
Eish !
Luckily , we had a back up 4x4 , we got him safely to Kevs Holiday house, recovered his bike in the morning, and Riaana drove him safely back over the bumpy road , safely back home to his wife.

The collar bone is broken , but luckily doesn't require surgery.

Heal soon Kev !

eish...sorry to hear...hope he recovers soon :thumleft:

my wife was riding in front of our group of 4 bikes when this huge warthog ran across the road in front of her....it was so fast and so close I think it was past her before she even realised what had happend as I did not see her brake light go on...but I even hit the brakes and I was behind her...it was close...very close :)

Sorry to hear Kev. Heal fast.  This is what we forget when we ride and it happens often. A warthog is solid and heavy.

Shit that is bad and yes a warthog is a cement block ... did not know that is what it was! There were also lots of kudu and other 'road blocks' in the reserve on the way out early Sunday toward the Patensie side.

I agree - from Doringkloof to Wilowmore (88km) takes shorter than an hour +/- but to get to Patensie (84km) takes 5 hours +/-

A few pics of the new queen of the mountains on her maiden voyage ;D

We rode from PE via the Elandriver Road and then on thru the kloof, stopping a few times to enjoy the awesome scenery and take a pic or two.

on the way home we went via Steytlerville for a lekka brekkie at the Royal :thumleft:
