Jis Subie,
Baie seevaardige skuit.
Geniet jou boot .... ek's baie jaloers!

Dankie Carl
So iets of soos die weer toelaat.

Don't worry Subie, we will have a mooring for you in Hout Bay.
We got a couple of Flamies here that want to start racing as well. Building up a fleet of Hunter's (I think the 8th just arrived yesterday) that have the same handicap as the Flamenca so stay a while & race with them. Best way to learn how to sail is racing around the cans.

Really nice Flamenca 25 for sale on gumtree now.
Perfect for somebody wanting to start sailing. Good price (R45000 ) and you should get your money back when you sell her again. Very well equipped also.
She is in Langebaan. Sorry I don't know the owner or seen the boat in real life.

Flammies are awesome little yachts.

If you ever get the opportunity to sail in the Hermanus area, be sure to go out for a night sail - even if you have to take someone more experienced along just for the outing. Words cannot describe the experience of sailing in so much bio-luminescence. You will see glowing torpedo's bearing down on your boat, only to have a lumo-green dolphin pop up and glide alongside in the blackness.

Here is a short clip of some Flammy sailing in Algoa Bay -

Busy getting my stuff ready ,packing etc. Still not sure I am going to be able to fit everything in my transkei-taxi .Leaving Sunday morning about 12H00 for a lazy drive down to Saldanha.
Probably arrive there around  04H00  monday morning, have a little catnap before sunup. Get the dinghy going and then getting everything on the boat etc. Hope to be sailing by Friday as there are lots to be done on the boat.
Always sad and excited before I leave. Nervous about the 16 hour drive down etc.

I probably will never sail Hermanus area but I anchor out often overnight. Northbay,Danger bay and various places in Langebaan/Kraalbaai. Sorry I cannot watch video now. Data is finished. Will on the 1st watch your video on your sail report on the Gariep. :thumleft:
