Yesterday, that is amazing

Your dog looks very good, I wanted the same and bought mine as a working dog but he has problems here and there. His back looked good till I soaked him and saw the curve. It is not the worst but it does bother me. I was confused by the other things that make them attractive like long hair etc but I won't make that mistake again. There is just too many expensive stuff my dogs need to have to worry about inbred problems.

Dog on the right is a true showdog

That is going to be a big dog. He will start filling out after about a year. It is important not to over exercise them at this stage. The problem with German Sherperds is that they are a new breed and the parameters and breeders have different Ideas about which way the breed should be bred. The original breeder or inventer of the dog wanted a tough working sherperd dog that could also be used to protect his flock. One thing for sure is they are all intelligent.

Bwana, you have one happy and healthy dog! How old is she/he? Slightly different build than most GS, but looks good almost like the Belgiam Sheppard..

Hi She is 5 she is 100% healthy and strong. Her ability to pluck a frisbee out of the air is amazing. She is a pure bred German Sherperd father a police dog mother used for breeding blind guide dogs I got very lucky but searched for a long time.

Bwana do they also have the hip problem?
Stunning dog although I am shit scared of GS's. Only dogs that have ever tried to bite me and always from behind.

As explained the working dogs are much hardier than the show dogs it is uncommon to have hip problems which is more common in the show breed. Colors are not important in the working dogs but are in show dogs. The problem arises were the English were taken by this dog and needed them for there Military as they had seen how effective they were in the war. They imported them and bred them calling them the Alsation and standards changed a bit then the Americans tried to breed them bigger these are apparantly the dogs with the most hip problems and are bigger. The smallest breed is the working type. Here is an American perspective.

Yes, the idiot people always try to breed them bigger, Staffies, Labradors, GS, Ridgeback, etc.. Unfortunately those are the dogs mith the most skeleton problems. It pisses me of!

Being bloody cold outside, I let the Barking Horse stay inside.
He off course, practices his psychokinetic powers by attempting to mind-dump food from the table.

Jissus! That's a huge dog!

My neighbour has one. Not nearly as big though. Flipping clever and super strong. If my neighbours one only weighs about 50kg's and is a big handful when I play with him, yours must be a beast when he sets his mind to it!
I wonder where that road goes? And that, has usually made all the difference. Appologies to Mr Frost
