Extra fuel options??
« on: June 10, 2016, 05:55:41 am »
As per heading, what are my options if I want to increase my 690's fuel range for around R5K??

Even by just 5l's is fine for me. I know I can take a 5l can, bit I'm looking for something permanent.

I would love the RR rear tank, but am not ready to pay that much! Anyway, maybe I missed something that's on the market, let's hear!!

Flying brick stocks the little under the seat tanks except the 690 s already sits there but worth a shout.

If you have a rear rack already the rotopax from wild@heart might be an option. Is what I use.

Our hard red fuel cell ins just R599 for 5L, and we have a stainless steel fitment bracket available, that the red fuel cell mounts to, for R450.

You can also see some of the attached pics, to give you ideas...

Seen a forum member use a piece of alu sail mast to make a tank for his 500 fitting under the plastics like the exhaust but on the other side. Not sure how much modification is required.

How about changing your exhaust to a rally style exhaust and fitting a tank in the exhaust space?

Hi Boland,

I just used 2 off the flying brick tanks on our bikes for a trip.  Can't really beat it at the price.  The shape and strength makes it easy to strap them onto the bike.  I still want to make a cap with a hose so I can refuel without taking them off the bike.  But not the permanent solution you are looking for.

customer of ours fitted a Rally Raid tank to his bike, after customizing the brackets - he's a perfectionist - !

(he bought the tank direct, and not from us)
