Please tell me if this conversation has been had already. ???
I'm in the market for a new bike having ridden my beloved Transalp into the side of an A4. I'm shopping around the R80k mark for something that will do a 6km daily commute on week days and handle Maraisburg/Jericho Rock type stuff at the worst on weekends.
The idea of an Xarrrr or D'arrrrr is tempting but I'd like to be able to sit on the highway at 130kph now & again, maybe ride from Jhb to the coast...
An 1150 was tempting but too big & heavy for the kind of off-roading I'd like to do. All the 1200s are out of my price range, the DL1000 is too soft and the Triumph has too many cylinders.
So, what do you recommend? What are your thoughts? I know I must just get out there and ride the bikes to really decide, but the opinion of the Dogs is always valuable.
