If the Toyota had stopped just short of the finish line instead of just past it they would have at least come second.

I don't know the 24hr rules

They apparently have to complete the lap after the flag comes down.
Don't look back, that's not where you're going.

I don't know the 24hr rules

They have to do 1 cool down lap, he actually managed 1 lap but he started it without crossing the finishing line. If he stopped before the line he would have immediately received the flag and the lap would have counted as the cool down.

It is a new rule (last 2 years) and the team being so disappointed never picked it up. In the past the cars received the flag and went straight into the pits the wrong way.
