Biker Down 23 June 2016 Old Joburg Road
« on: June 23, 2016, 12:49:21 pm »
Drove past the scene this morning in the cage this morning on Old Joburg, close to Olifantsfontein Road.  Was quite upsetting to witness with the deceased biker lying under a space blanket and a crumpled Polo and bike on the other side of the road.  Does anyone have any info of what happened?  The place where the body ended up in relation to the car and bike makes it difficult to piece together what caused the accident.

RIP fellow biker!  :'(

I was wondering why the huge back-up of traffic on Olifantsfontein and north on Old Pretoria.  Thought it was an accident, but no idea it was a biker.

Its terrible  :-[ RIP bud
its happening more often on the n14 that pedestrians are running across the road and cars cutting over to get to the other side! :eek7:
I wish i had a action cam of sorts, the things i see everyday! Its unbelievable
today i was quite shocked at how this woman was driving her audi q3  DR 28 NB  GP ....(now i see where the term rekless driving comes from ) she was on her phone too!!riding as if its formula 1 crossing solid lines almost bumping cars....people were hooting and giving her the finger (hot blonde was riding it) think they can get away with anything :patch:
so theres traffic and im lane splitting minding my own business during the time and by every robot the car is next to or behind me!!!
I dont know if she was drunk, anyways followed her about 3km from my turn off to get the rest of her number plate then went to the police station on the way home and got them to take details and radio to the guys on patrol...I was so close to wanting to take a mirror and put a dent in that car! Im just glad im not savage! its not worth it in the end. I just want justice. riding flat out in residential areas... not a worry in the world.

Its amazing how someone can have no regard for others safety.
The hardest part for me is to not let it get to my head... How do you do it?

Which it did, as you can see by my long post
keep calm and trust in God

Posted on our wa rider group....

Yes makes sense as it appeared from the wreckage that they were travelling in opposite directions. Irony is that a similar thing happened to a friend of mine in roughly the same spot 2 years ago. He collided head on with a truck and also didn't make it....

Yesterday's scene was quite a stark realisation. Be safe guys.

RIP...  :'(

WDs, please be VERY careful of pedestrians.  They are often the one hazard that we don't think about...  Some of you might remember that I clipped (and afterwards heard that I killed) a pedestrian who illegally crossed the road after disembarking from a taxi back in 2009.  My injuries and scars are still with me, but I am still alive.  Be careful out there!

RIP

RIP fellow biker.  :'(

I see the pedestrians are getting more and more out of hand on the highways even here on the Garden Route. The cops are trying their level best to control it, but all they can do is to try educate them.
Hang on  ::) Did I just say that  ??? :o

This morning on the N3 Towards Midrand just after Modderfontein off ramp there was one walking in the middle of the highway.  Cars slamming on brakes I just missed him.

RIP fellow biker.

RIP fellow biker.
There is kooka shops on the side of the road and pedestrians cross between the traffic for their road side take away. On my way to Just Bike Tyre yesterday afternoon lunch time they ran across the road again, cars missing them just just.
Sad about the loss of life.
