Mr Daley has something going for him in addition to his remarkable good health and unflagging enthusiasm.
He can still afford it, and that's what bothers me. I'm 72, my health and fitness are great so far, and my love of riding only increases with each passing year.
My boldness and ability on the dirt has certainly diminished, but I'm sure that's got more to do with the fact that I can't afford to ride so frequently and therefore I get out of practice.
I'd love to think that I could carry on to 90 and beyond. I want to keep riding until the day I die, possibly as the worlds oldest ever human being.
But its all a dream, financially I'm going down inexorably but not without a fight. I can only consider myself lucky to have had a good innings and count each ride as a bonus.
Meanwhile, all power and good fortune to Mr Daley and anyone else like him. May he reach at least his century!  :ricky:
