Ja, the consumption on my SM 610 is eye wateringly bad, but the smile factor makes up for it.

My old 610 with its horrible Dellorto carb seldom did better than 13l per 100km. It had a 9 litre tank so it's useful range was not much more than 100km.

IMS - $248

Safari - $640    :-[

And IMS doesn't have a a model available for the EFI models.

For a long time there was no long range tank for EFI 610 until Safari came with the 25l expensive one. I'm afraid it is still the only choice apart from standard.

My EFI 610 does about 180 km on a tank before the fuel light comes on, and then another 30-40km I would think before it runs dry, although I never have.
I have JD tuner, power up mod and gutted exhaust and generally ride it like I stole it. That probably equates to around 16km/l. I regularly got 18+ before the performance upgrades. (On my SE I am lucky if I get 10km/l, but then that acceleration is so addictive)
18 till I die.
If hard work pays, show me rich donkey.

Got over 16km per litre on this weekend's ride. Not great, but better and closer to what I expected. Put in under 10 litres, so I had some fuel left after the 160km we did. Fuel light didn't come on either, but I did see it working during the week.  :thumleft:

Went on a ride yesterday. Covered the LDBA red and black routes. Was in the company of two KTM 625 SXCs. Very similar bikes to our 610 TEs. They have 41mm Keihin FCR pumper carbs.

We filled and re-filled at the same filling stations. They used 3.2 and 3.3l for the 42 km section respectively. The 610 "only" 3.1l. That should be 13.548km/l. That section included both technical and fast gravel, and we where not holding back!

I'm looking into getting the IMS 20 liter tank and fitting an external (in-line) fuel pump. I know this has been done often enough on many bikes so should not be brain surgery. In fact, the is a write up on advrider for the te 610 retrofit. The Ims tank is around $250 so from that point of view certainly less sleepless nights.
Scrat has one on his 2006 te610 and loves it.
A little ingenuity and 300km is possible.
