You're excused. They come from Sweden.

whats the history behind these bikes,,,

Once upon a time there were some engineers working for Husqvarna. They got gatvol, left and started Husaberg.

Yes. KTM is the official South-African importer. Go to a KTM dealership and there's BERGs standing on the floor too.

Had my eye on it for some time now since announcement. And it's in my wish list as an additional dirt playtool to compliment my trusty GS in foreseeable future.

Husaberg has a relatively good representation in my country (we're Sweden's neighbours afterall), loads of Husabergs around, parts availability etc.

Mass centralisation was the aim with the new flat engine. The power of 450cc but handles like a circa 250-300cc bike.

Basically it's designed by Swedes but many parts and the bike is made by KTM factory in Austria. Fortunately it's the only proper colour "KTM" available for me, at least it's NOT orange ;D

A proper BLUE.

Still waiting the full specs of Berg's FE450 and BMW's G450X and hoping to testride both next year. Bimmer looks better option when doing a traffic stuff to ride on to the race track myself (street legal), but Berg seems a slightly narrower focus hardcore bike (I'll need a cager to transport the bike to the dirt tracks tho  >:( ). Anyways, both are extremely tempting new and innovative bikes from Europe - exacly the mix of character and competence I'd ever require to have fun with  :thumright:
