Ek laaik wat ek sien.  Geweet jy sal hom kan bou.  Mooi so Woody.   :thumleft:  :thumleft:

Haar so amper 80 km/h in die straat af gevat.

Gl nie jy kan daai FB link net so laai nie.

So this weekend I managed to get most of the work done and test-drive the rig.

Just sitting still and lean to the left, you can see the sidecar turning LEFT.
When you lean to the right you see the sidecar turning right.

It does the slalom like a Swiss champ.!  :laughing4:

Made 2 dolly wheels to fit to the frame. Now it is easy to dethatch the sidecar by myself.

Will do the final bracing next weekend and also fit the brake master cylinder and wiring..
Dan gaan ons ry pappie.  :ricky:

Maklik.

Anybody with STEERING DAMPER experience please give me some ideas as to what is possible.

Now with the swivel action done on the sidecar, I was thinking of putting on a top brace that can be installed when riding mud or sand so that I cannot fall over.
This will be taken out completely when normal roads are available. so that I can enjoy the ride.

But instead of having a SOLID arm between the sidecar and the bike, why would a steering type damper not work.
I need something that sits in the middle of the travel.
When I lean left it will allow me to tilt the bike up to a certain point.
Same with the right tilt. Allow tilt until a max angle is reached.
Where can I buy, borrow, steal such a steering type damper.
It is not much movement that I need.
I tested it and about 12 degrees tilt is adequate for normal riding.

Thank's waiting to hear from the experts...or the people that are not afraid to experiment. :laughing4:

Who has something like this lying around?
Was thinking of a gas strut... but they are either open or close.
So it must be something like this and even better when I can adjust the tension.

Just a suggestion, but you might like to weld some diagonals into the frame as triangles are rigid and can't flex, while squares can become rhombus's when you least need it.

Jy kan daai canopy struts laat "tune". Hulle kan die resistance stel.
Don't look back, that's not where you're going.

Noted and still on the list to do.  This weekend the bracing will be done that is why I have not taken it out on the open road yet.
