Need some tire advice. K60 / TKC 70 / ??
« on: September 02, 2016, 10:46:39 am »
I've always had Anakee 2's and was very happy with them, but these are unfortunately no longer available. My riding style is probably 70 road / 30 offroad and I was looking at either the Heidi K60 or TKC 70 as replacements, maybe E08?

I just do not know. What would you guys recommend?

Are Anakee 3's too tame for your application? Karoo 3's will work well on your bike.

BoosterPlug, LED Spots, Tool Tubes, RustStop, Kappa Screens, Top boxes, Tank Bags - whatever works for me.

I've got a mental block against the Anakee 3's. I'm sure they'll do the job, but they just appear a little too "slick" to make me comfortable on gravel and any kind of sandy situation.

No 21" Terraforce it seems.

I've kinda narrowed it down to the Heidenau K60 or Mitas E07, if anyone would like to give some feedback on those.

Will probably only fit a new set towards the end of October. Leaving for Italy in a few days.

I have had two Heidis on my F800GS. Long life, poor grip on tar and off. Will probably not use again. Slippery in wet, but better than the E07.

The Karoo 3's looks awesome, but a few dealers I talked to advised against them for my kind of 70/30 riding. Apparently they wear incredibly fast on tarmac. (due to them being so soft and grippy)

You confirm what I've read. Due to the centre band on the Heidis?

TKC70 vs 80

Now that's very interesting! Puts the TKC 70 back in play.
