Hi Wobble

Any feedback on the tank available yet? How does the K&N filter affect the performance of the bike if all?

Just a heads-up, Radek visited last week, he has now CHANGED ALL 690 and 701 tanks (going forward) to the new TWIN-AIR filters, which he feels will be (even) better than the K&N used previously..

Lots to explain here, but IN BRIEF:
1. the tank size has been reduced SLIGHTLY to fit the new filter set-up...
2. the new air filter set-up IS NOT retro-compatible with the OLD (K&N) tank...
3. but he is making a 'conversion kit available to enable those who WISH (not need...) to change, to facilitate that change..
More later

@ Chris

Did Radek mention any new 701 products in Rade pipeline (following SA testing)?

will ask him and revert - he has some VERY innovative soft luggage WITH luggage plate, and he knows of my interest with soft luggage, so stay tuned - this CAN mean middle of the year, or later, since he TESTS a lot of stuff, and production and shipping takes time...
All his 'light tower' will now be LED's (no more HID, or whatever), and IN ADDITION the LED controller now sits ON/IN (?) the LED light housing, rather than an 'outboard' unit which was separate for each of the two LED's...
Will post more info here as it becomes available...

NEW Foam FilterNew small air-box that use the OEM intake and flange, that ensures a better fit to the engine. The foam filter from TwinAir is designed specifically for our kit to ensure great dust prevention and it is easily accessible, so replacement takes only few minutes.

Hi Chris

Do you know if this tank for the 701 can be used with the new airbox as part of the acrapovic exhaust kit? Or will I have to fit the filter supplied with the tank? Does it require a remap of the ECU?

I am at the last hurdle of selling my bike, which means the 701 can almost be ordered  :ricky:

Hi,

You would have to used supplied air box from the tank.
Remap of the ECU I do not think it is needed; Letting your bike idle for 10-15 minutes without touching the throttle should do the trick.

Jan

Hi

So where do everyone store their spare tubes and tire levers? I am using the bike daily and need to fit tire levers and spare tubes/patches somewhere on the bike.

Has anyone fitted a tool tube on their bike? How do you carry your puncture repair tools? *PS not looking at installing Tubless system yet  :deal:

Gooi some pics of your solutions please?

the Toys2Go stainless pannier racks are designed - both sides - to take tool tubes IF needed; the 5L fuel bracket that takes a 5L plastic fuel cell can ALSO do duty as a tool tube carrier;

and the tool tubes on it's own will bolt directly to the OUTSIDE of the pannier rack, as well as the INSIDE (caution: the rising swing-arm may well interfere with the tool tube, always CHECK!)
it bolts up to the two tabs welded on to the edges of the T2G pannier rack.

Having said all that, the benefit of an ANGLED-up  tool-tube (not shown here) are that tools, if SLIGHTLY loosely packed, do not 'shunt' backwards and forwards every-time you approach a traffic light!!!

will try and post some pictures here:

Chris

I've got my 2 x tire levers wrapped in duct tape and cable tied across my handlebars. Puncture kit goes into a small bag on the rear rack.
