I've got my 2 x tire levers wrapped in duct tape and cable tied across my handlebars. Puncture kit goes into a small bag on the rear rack.

Thanks, will look into it. If stranded next to the road, without a Centre stand, what is the best way to lift the bike to get the front/rear wheel out?

Sorry for all the questions, but I was used to plugging tires on a 1200GS. Need to be prepared on the 701  :ricky:

Someone made these some time back and were called Zig Zag stands - maybe try Flying Brick?

Netjies! I saw the one at flying brick, very nice, but just over R1000. The crutch looks like a great idea.

No I am not talking about that one - Chris did post it somewhere ... need a lot of punctures to substantiate R1K in my book  :o . I am saying the crutch type was made a Zig Zag - not sure if still available. Should be no more that R100.

2 manufacturers went out of business, and could no longer make the 'crutch' style bike props for us.

Phoned 2 others, not interested in making them, to a price point, of course!

So I imported Snap Jack, which is a very good option, next 20 will be under R1k, due to improved Ran/Dollar rate, and shipping bulk, with different shipper.
Once-off purchase, and we expect them to be shared between say 3 or 4 small bike riders, with just ONE rider carrying one Snap Jack...

Still, we recognize that it IS a lot of money, I will re-double my efforts to either source the crutch-type jack again, or get more manufactured.

Cheers
Chris

Hi, I am riding and R100GS (1993 model)
long tyre lever fits into the frame underneath the tank
The two short levers and other tools are in the regular toolbox under the seat
On longer trips, i have to KTM tube bags attached at the side to take spare tube front and back.
First Aid Kit, Compressor and tyre repair kit (tubeless) fitted to the pannier racks

I don't like the fact that it does away with the airbox. KTM designed a fitted an airbox for a reason.

Yes they did, a lomp huuge contraption to silence the intake noise.
Quite effective indeed, almost as restrictive too.
And, Rade did away with that shite K&N filter (these let through fines!) and now employs a superb TwinAir filter.

Chris,

my kit's on it's way, and, although I did accept I'd have to remove the pump and drill etc, there seems to be an easier way to mount the fuel line, see this post of Amsterdam:
http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=221050.0

Needles to say, if my bike has these petcock-inserts then I'll be doing it that way!

Edited later: Chris, better read my post in the abovementioned thread, it explains why Rade's instruction to drill holes in the pump's shroud is a bad idea - so bad in fact that you should tell them perhaps?
