Hi guys, any recommendations regarding shop manuals for these bikes. We are looking at a major engine overhaul.

Something to think about...
When you complain, you make yourself a victim. Leave the situation, change the situation, or accept your it. All else is madness.

Thanks Dirtjunkie, I have gone through the thread but no DR650? I am severely IT challenged and need to have my nose rubbed in stuff before I can see it. Any more direct links out there?

Maybe try to ping Sardine?

I downloaded a DR650 SE service manual from a New Zealand DS site, but I'm not sure for which models, I think it's 1996 and later. It's about 90 Mb.

Manual? What manual?   :sip:

The problem with the online digital copies is that it's illegal in most jurisdictions to put stuff like a service manual online as it constitutes copyright infringement. These service manuals are NOT in the public domain!

I think I explained this somewhere in the DR thread index.
That's why I don't check links to workshop manuals any more, I don't fix them if they are broken and generally if you find a working link I don't recommend to you that you post it here as it often does not work for a long time. Means don't report the broken link to me :D

It is relatively easy to find working links (Google is your friend) but to my experience they never work for a long time. If you find a manual in PDF and if it's formatted (if you can click on chapters instead of only paging through it) I recommend you save it to your hard drive or to a disc.

If you have a good digital copy of the original workshop manual feel free to share it privately if some one asks here. Consider what I said above before you make it public that you have a digital copy.

Do NOT offer a digital copy for sale here.  :patch: I will have to delete the thread and report you to the almighty global moderators :deal:

I do have an OEM DR650SE manual here in Cape Town which you may borrow for an hour or so and if you buy me a beer or two I won't ask you if you took it to a copy shop or slapped it onto a scanner. :laughing5:
You can also buy it from Suzuki. If they give you a hard time and don't want to sell you one and tell you bullshit that it is not for sale to the public please feel free  to contact me and I'll get one for you at cost.

One service manual covers all DR650SE from 1996 until to date and counting.

In general the OEM service manual is of much better quality and much easier and more efficient to work with especially for a pro if compared to generic manuals like Clymers.
