here we were early Saturday morning filling up the bikes.

My Honey Mrs Pluto on her CRF 230

More shots of Mrs Pluto ( you can easy figure out who her biggest fan is )

Fun and games at the water crossing

We stopped here twice for refuelling and refreshments.  All superbly well-organised.

We stopped here to admire the 5 cent birds in the small dam

Stunning scenery around every corner and over every hill

All too soon it was over, and back home wash and clean bike for next adventure

Firstly a big thank you to the organizers for a fantastic well organized event. The ride was much more challenging than expected being my first but I had a blast.
Thanks to all the kind gentlemen who help me up and sent me on my way with encouraging words of "just Forget it happened" and "best just to use the back wheel" and "I told you ...just use the back wheel.  :imaposer:
To my riding partner Blob thanks for your patience and sticking with me and I'm  sorry I made you have a side stand incidence too.

So I bought 3 pieces of earth at quite a price. One low side mud puddle which cost me a bent clutch and skew handle bars. One high side muddy patch which cost me again skew handle bars and some bruised ribs. And lastly a beautiful strip of slippery green grass next to the railway line which cost the most - a Frontal flip resulting in a broken screen, broken light mounting very bruised chest and the rib on the other side.  But my ego was not bruised as I don't have one of those.   :imaposer:The cherry on the top is a burnt out clutch.   >:(

Goose it was great to put a face to a name - Helloo and thanks for taking the trouble to introduce yourself.
To the kind gentleman who came to find me and offer a screen - please let me know who you are. I was quite overwhelmed with everything I don't remember your name.

Despite the slippery slide I had an awesome time and will be back next year.
May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live

I heard from a reliable source that all my friends now own property in the area.

Now, own up, or I will spill the beans on your spills, and post the photos too...

I'll proudly raise my hand....that my scooter did an awesome "180deg about turn" along that one section of twee-spoor track along the rail line....& planted herself nicely facing the "now oncoming riders".  :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer:

I have it all caught on my helmet camera  :lol8: :lol8: & will be sure to post it here once I've worked through all my footage. About a 1/4 way through.

OK. ...I owned up....who else out there willing to share.  :peepwall: ;D

Just keep in mind that I also have footage of a few other rider's "real estate purchases

@Crab: Nice to have met you too. It's always good to put faces to avatars. I must say I am flattered that Lance and I ended up on your highlights list!

@PLUTO: You caught Lance at one of the water crossings. Thanks! He will really appreciate a pic of him for a change. That's the problem with being the cameraman: plenty pics of me, but nothing of him.

@Pilchie: Kudos to you for persevering. A fall can really rattle you. And you had a whole slew of them! I'm glad you don't have broken bits. Bikes heal quicker. FYI: It was Coxwain who offered the screen.

I'll share some photos this weekend.

This is now officially on my bucketlist for next year - Thanks to the farmers  :thumleft:

Although this has grown too big for my liking there are a couple of things that have to be said about the Canola run:

 - The absolute hospitality of the people of the Overberg
 - The lekker 'gees' that there is with everyone there - there are smiles and good times all 'round.
 - the food (also refer back to my 1st point)
 - the generosity of the farmers to open up their farms for the hooligans for a 'only to be repeated once a year' experience (and privilege)
 - the general organizational skills of the powers that be. It isn't easy organizing something like this at this magnitude and last but not least:
 - the amazing scenery that is the Overberg in spring.

Lekker to see the photos and see the familiar (and some unfamiliar) sites (and faces).

 :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Great event, agree with all the comments so far. Looking at previous event photos I always thought the Canola Run was for hardcore hooligans but found out the event caters for all types of riders.

Only suggestion I could make is to allow the plastics to go five minutes earlier because I'm sure the big bikes piss them off by going so slow and they definitely piss off the big bike trying to impress us with their roosting skills.

While working through the footage of my helmet camera,  I spotted him come flying past the camera leaving a really nice long trail of tyre tracks  :lol8: :lol8: :lol8: :thumleft:

Here it is.... :ricky: ;D ;D ;D

Definitely looked pretty impressive seeing that nice loooooong "Track-Trail" just keep extending as he flew down the road :thumleft: :lol8: :lol8:

Well done to the organisers  :thumleft:

Excellent organisational skills, everything went smooth. The route was great. The food was great.

Die arme tannies by die pannekoektafel het nie geweet wat hulle getref het nie.
