All these regional bashes look like a whole lotta fun.

The Gauteng guys have been lean on bashes for a long time.
The idea of a bash and the required effort to get there is foreign to most Gautengers.......at least those who don't go down to the National bashes in the centre of South Africa every September. The forum originated in the Western Cape and as a result most Western capeners are much more involved in supporting the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Breede River bashes. The tradition needs to be instilled properly north of the Orange.
There is a large number of Gautengers on the forum and although most of them are inactive, anti social or a combination of the 2, there is great scope for expansion of the North Bash to become one of the best supported bashes in the wilddog calendar

I believe this North Bash concept will grow exponentially over the next couple of years :thumleft:
I have had commitments from guys like Bud500 and some of the older dogs to try and make next years bash a memorable one....again.
And also significantly bigger.
I am sure each of us that was there this year knows at least 2 other Wild dogs he or she can tag along next year.
By promoting this event actively we can get 180 to 200 people there next year!

The planned date for next year's event is 18/19/20 November.
I have a follow up meeting planned with the owner of the resort.
We will try and involve some of the local Bike brand dealers to become involved as well.
Furthermore we would really like to get some serious sponsors on board so that we can keep it affordable for everyone .........AND still try to support local charities like children's homes and animal shelters.

By the way - after all the unexpected expenses from the resort were paid and all accounts settled we were able to deposit a donation of R4000.00 to the Middelburg care Village. I have had an invite from Santa de Jager, the social worker involved there to bring some of the Wild Dogs over to come and see what the place looks like, check out their amenities and maybe get to meet some of the children there.
As you know all children love bikes. We may even get a group of riders together on a Saturday, combine it with a nice dirtride and a breakfast at Ruby River, visit the children's home, and make a day of it.

Let me know if you want to get involved.

Swifty out :thumleft:

E-mail I got today from Ruby River Resort after enquiring about my key deposit that would have been paid by EFT.

“Good day Etienne
Due to a misunderstanding with the Wilddog bash, All wilddog key deposits are being held back until the problem is sorted out with the organizers for the damages to our Lapa. This is per the owner of the resort.
Kind regards
Candra”

I have been in e-mail contact with the owner of the resort.
I explained to him that the damage in the Lapa were caused by individuals and not the collective and that he must reconsider holding back key deposits indiscriminately. I sent him another mail today to request an assessment of the value of the damage caused and then we will contact the culprits directly to see if we can sort something out with the resort.

Hang bal!
We are trying to sort things out
