FYI fuel use comparison KTM 1190 R and Honda Africa Twin 2016

Just been through Baviaans. We all filled up at Uniondale. Through Baviaans (2 days) and refuel in Patensie. KTM 1190 R: 15.5 L. Honda AFTwin 2016: 10.5 L. So..... KTM used 50% more fuel than Africa Twin. Exactly same distance, exactly same riding. Approx 240kms. Makes you think....

that's about 6.5l/100km for the 1190 - I ride my 1290 pretty hard and mostly in town and I get 6.5-6.8l/100km most of the time - on open highways at steady 130-140km/h I can get as low as 4.8l/100km

Indeed, that's remarkably thirstier I know, but then I didn't buy my 1190 R for its economical fuel consumption. And even though I don't get much mileage on a tank, I do get a lot of fun...so it doesn't bother me.

A KTM 1190 or 1290 owner who whine about fuel consumption is not a real gear head and bought the wrong bike
