So let's make it interesting.
Who do you think is going to win?

My Top Three:
1. David Thomas
2. Roger Kane-Berman
3. Hentie Hanekom

and Malle Moto (because they are the real riders)
1. Donovan van de Langenberg
2. Joey Evans
3. no bid, unsure......

Finish ratio: 80% - Though the numbers are low this year, I think the quality of the entrants is high.

My top 3:

David Thomas
Hentie Hanekom
Chris Ogden

Yeah, go Chris!! He's riding my 'old' bike so he's definitely going to podium  O0

Malle Moto I have no idea - there's a bunch of foreign guys in there. I'd say Joey because he's been training so much but he may be taking this one very steady to avoid injury for the Dakar. Stay away from the fn cows/kudus/unicorns, mate!

Chris Oppermann?
Chris is quick, and at some point he will figure out how not to get lost. He must do, because he has already found and executed every possible method of getting lost  :eek7:
So far we have:
  • Go into sandy section, break chain, turn towards nearest town to get chain repaired, get lost.
  • Break chain again, same day nogal, make it to friend in closest town, get lost.
  • Go straight at (unmarked) turn in roadbook (not his fault), somehow carry on for ~150km, run out of petrol, get lost.

I would really enjoy seeing Chris do well, he deserves it.

What let you think anyone have a change against my "unique" navigational skills?  8)

Grapjasse.

Half the field are twice as fast as me falling down a mineshaft while getting lost on my way down...  :P

Agree.  Remember, Chris took stage 1 outright last year before everybody protested.  He has also been racing a lot at national level this year.  Only thing keeping him back will be the terrain:  it looks slowish and technical and short (he will be on a RR).   This year looks to be the perfect time to bag a finish if you are an ordinary mortal and also optimal for a 450 lite set-up.

Watch Hentie Hanekom, winner 2 years back.  He is 114.  So, the top 10 of each set is not the end-all.  Also weird is Joey.  #109, but he is on a 450.  Rudi Tour Neethling is back on a Honda XR400.  Will be interesting to watch after years on the big machines.
