« on: November 03, 2016, 08:25:46 pm »
I have been reading in a lot of travel guides and they say that you can't ride bikes in any of the reserves. Is this true?Do i drive around the checkpoints or something.
Thanks

Not quite true, but for most of the major ones this applies!

Eg. you can ride through the Thule block and top part of he Moremi.

I think this is mainly due to the big cats & dogs roaming around freely !

I have fairly criss-crossed Botswana, east/west, north/south, in and out nature reserves (sometimes not even knowing I'm in a reserve) and have never been stopped because I'm on a bike. My only concern was keeping clear of elephants (and recently ostriches - real unpredictable bastards).

I have replied to your youtube question in your main thread in PLanning the Ride. I would suggest you stick to one thread instead of opening new one for every question as your chances to get worthwhile feedback will be better that way.
