Spoke to Chris at Ekerold Yamaha in pmb, who reckons the T7 will be in sa in February 2020.
Didn't have an indication of price though..... Let's see.  :peepwall:

I really believe that only Yamaha can hold people's attention for so long, without even bringing out a new model. :ricky:

The Tenere660Z took forever to get to ZA. I saw one at the bike show at the Dome around 2 years before it finally made it to ZA shores and was a lil underwhelmed so bought something else. Then when they finally got to ZA I took one for a ride and was so impressed with it I bought one off the first shipment.

This T7 I think is the ideal adventure bike. Enough houding , high , good suspension and a strong reliable motor.

Africa ain't for sissies hey.

Sommer in BMW se agterplaas. :eek7:

Ek was verbaas om daar te lees dat Amerika sy T7's saam met SA kry, 2020.

You also have never seen a TZ750, yet it is one of the most significant bikes ever built.

With apologies to the Floyd  ;)

Quote
"Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
But I'm sure the T7 might be released today."

Dwerg has just pointed out how the T7 is a top seller in Germany.

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown, indeed. :thumleft:

Dan jy behoort hierdie te geniet

Mos gese hierdie gaan n great bike wees  :ricky:

As verkope 'n indikasie was van hoe goed 'n bike is moet jy 'n Honda Hero koop. Beste bike ooit.

To be 100% fair to those numbers, a bike outselling others in it's first months on the market while others have been available for 5 years (LC anyway) isn't really evidence of anything. But it is great for the T7 and Yamaha.

EDIT: If you read until the end, the 1250GS has sold 9100 units in the 9 months before October. Average of 1000 per month. Makes the 310 x T7s look a little less impressive

Beauty of the T7 because of the CP2 motor many people will be using it for commuting as well because of low stress and long service intervals. Do it all bike.Wont be intimidating to take it off road either.
