Some record sales in Europe of this machine, while us in Shithole country can only deride it's let arrival. :eek7:

I do believe Yamaha was caught out by the T7's big sales, so Shithole clients get moved back in the line willy nilly.

Want someone to blame? Blame Ramaphosa. :pot:

They had to wait for Europe, New Zealand and Australia to get theirs.
The T7 is made in the French plant (and not Japan) which has a much lower manufacturing capacity.

So are they selling a Euro spec to those countries first then bringing out a US spec, do they think the US will sell less than Oz and NZ I wonder ?

Yip, can't understand how these bikes are already in New Zealand for more than a month and nothing in SA!

SA is a MUCH BIGGER adventure market than NZ...

We don't really know the reason for the allocations so its all conjecture. The 660Z also took a long time to get here. IIRC I first saw it on a bike show at the DOme in 2007 and got mine off the first shipment to ZA in 2009.

I guess it has to do with profit margins. Someone somewhere figured that to sell the bike certain markets will maximise margins so service those first. Once those markets taper off sell in markets with less margins.

Probably all went via Aus, so yes NZ itself is relatively small for them, but joint launch/press, training and logistics with Aus market make good economic sense.
