I see an interesting trend in this discussion that some people seem to think that suspension should never bottom out. From my downhill/enduro mtb riding days, we set up our suspension so that on largish hits you use all or most of the travel available and on the occasional massive hit you would sometimes bottom it out but then have your rebound such that is is a non event. Whats the point of having lots of suspension travel if you don't use all of it?

In the case of the T7, we already know it is underspung for the larger guys. Also regarding the bottoming out in the videos above, they were pushing that suspension way beyond the intended design scope. For the type of riding that this bike will do 98% of the time I suspect suspension will be just fine. Anyhow the riding gods who use 100% of the suspension all the time won't be buying T7's ...  :pot:
- you reckon that thing will pop a wheelie? We're about to find out, SLAP that pig!

My XT600E has bottomed out more times than Zuma can count in it's 100 000kms of duty.

Why would a Yamaha break from bottoming out??

It's only KTM riders who seem to expect a break as soon as something bottoms out. :imaposer:

Thats got to be great selling point for the T7 then....
"It`s really not the best suspension, but this bike can withstand multiple bottoming out."
Where do I sign?
 :peepwall:

Perhaps unknowingly, you hit on the actual point. "It can withstand multiple bottoming out".  It's a Yamaha.

Seriously, do you see any other bike copying Torres' riding without serious damage??

790's get shock absorber claims under normal conditions, let alone allowing Torres to get hold of one. :deal:

Word from ADVrider is that this was done with "Stock suspension and springs. All he did was add Mitas tires and a touch more oil to the forks"

But unfortunately the joke will be on us Shithole occupants, as overseas riders are getting this gem at way under the competition.

Manufacturers retail price here is 174,000 Rand or $9,995 USD for comparison.  Iíve noticed however that the factory accessories are priced quite high!

When compared to midsize bikes from Triumph Katoom and BMW, still seems a bargain in my opinion, especially when long term reliability is factored.

According to those in the know, the KTM 790 is plagued with clutch failures.  Leave it to KTM to completely drop the ball in design and workmanship.

Ordered mine - order confirmed, Akro, air filter , skid plate

I am so over KTM

And what is ETA? And cost?
Would be great if some threads on living with the T7 can get going

Yeah, It really looks like a great bike and more reviews are positive on it than negative if you sift through the chaff.

Sick pics!

I am so over phone KTM Cape Town and Ashleigh Budd not even having the decency to take a call .

Cape Town needs another KTM dealer - everybody has had enough . I voted with my feet waiting for the Yam also bought a CRF 1000 . Had enough irritation and dealer rudeness
