I feel truly sorry for the okes in SA who were keen on a good, solid and basic bike. Here in the Netherlands I'm seeing plenty of them now. Mainly the blue one and the red/white one, but some really sick looking custom coloured ones too.
At around R160 000 it would of been a no brainer, but current indications of around R200 000... nah, that's just wrong.

SA getting royally screwed & it fucking sucks...

More recognisable to the motorcycle eye than any other colour scheme on a motorcycle ever, Yamaha's "speedblock" patterns remain a winner.

Whether it's on Pat Hennen's and Kenny Roberts' 1970 big TZ's, on a 1983 600 Tenere or on a 2021 T7.

The meaning of history.

Why am I posting it here

Because of this quote?

"the road-biased base 790 and the more off-road R – and it’s the R that, if you’re looking for a brilliantly performing off-road adventure, is probably the best of all."

Quote from: sidetrack on Today at 08:17:23 am>Has anyone from Yamaha even confirmed the R200k price tag ?
Yes, I have had an e-mail from them (Yamaha), 30th July 2020, confirming a working price of R198,950 incl vat.
However, there is a caveat, you pay a non-refundable deposit of R10,000, and the CEILING price C-A-N (not will...) go as high as R210K, and then you agree to buy it at that raised price; if however it is LESS than R198,950, you would score.
However that deposit is non-refundable up to the R210K ceiling price, since they are at the mercy/vagaries of the exchange rate.
You can get your non-refundable R10K deposit back if the price then exceeds R210K.
Do NOT shoot the messenger here, I held off posting pricing info here, WHICH WAS CORRECT AT TIME THEY WROTE TO RETAILERS, ETC - I held off because I did not want a negativity sh!t storm surrounding a - by all accounts - very capable bike - when no one knows exactly what the final price would be, so please post with a degree of compassion, and not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Cheers
Chris

Thanks Chris
We now hold you fully responsible for the above information  :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer:

Non refundable deposit.... my my my ...does yamaha ZA really treat potential clients in this manner...

not sure this is entirely legal either
