No one complains when a standard model HiLux bakkie is more expensive than a top-of-the-range Tata laden with cheap Chinese electronic.

Understand this, the T7 is a HiLux, and the KTM's Tata's. [from this year, officially Bajaj, cousin of Tata :imaposer:]

Vintage, with respect, if you understood the final product from each manufacturer, you would have compared the KTM390 to Mahindra's Mojo.

You are, and you're not alone, comparing Hilux to Tata.  The Tata would be cheaper, of course.

My point (as mentioned earlier somewhere) exactly - and it is here where Bidvest will pull Yahama's reputation through their very own arse!
What has become of the #1 selling brand (Yammie was!) during the days when Midmacor represented Honda in SA?
Honda simply kicked them out and took the reigns themselves, bragging they would become #1 hence kicking Yammie's butt.
They did do this too but only after a couple of years, but since were taken over by other brands I think.... but never Yamaha again!
Somewhere later Bidvest cropped up, took in Yahama and..... sales have dropped even further, their pricepoint the main culprit.
Soon, if not today already, Yamaha will become a niche brand in SA, for only their overpriced reputation!
Hell, that's not far off HD's rep innit?
Look at them struggling of late, my guess is Yamaha will follow them soon.....  :-\

Should be very reliable at that price  :thumleft:

Who needs disk brakes/any technology anyway?

Maybe the T8 will have drum brakes as well. :deal:
