The question is how much are you prepared to pay for KTM's shorter motor, low tanks (and I don't care what anyone says about droop boobs they are the way to go from a function perspective), lower - and I would suggest significantly lower - COG, beefier suspension, higher torque motor, better padded seat for pillion and lower seat height and a couple other things I like about the 790.
As for the high tank on the T7. I had the original 600 Tenere. On a Monday morning I had to constantly remind myself not to drop it into the first corner on the way to work with a full tank...particularly after riding my IT 200 all day Sunday the day before. It was downright dangerous if you didn't think about it.
