People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day. And doing nothing often leads to the very best kind of something.

I had almost given up on seeing one when I walked into Brian's shop in Proserpine to find that he had one parked amongst all the old crap. Turns out he'd bought two, also has a red and white one. the following day I saw the blue colour in Bullet bikes in Mackay while my wife was doing her Q learners bike course (don't ask.) They weren't very interested in selling me one and at $16,800 I'm not surprised.  Very ordinary looking but I'm impressed that they didn't just bolt the bash plate onto the sump like the other pretend adventure bikes. The seat was just a bit wider and more comfortable than I was expecting and personally I found it a bit loud. I like to be able to creep around without arousing anyone's interest.

I tried to get Brian interested in a ride but he seemed much more interested in the sound of the aftermarket exhaust. I'm starting to get the hang of the cartography here. These are some pictures from a quick reccy down Pretty Bend Road which I did last week after sorting out my Medicare card in Bowen. Pretty Bend follows the Don River to the back of Proserpine dam and should link up to the power pylon path and the Normanby Range where the original settlers panned for gold. The original SS Normanby came to grief on a rock shelf just off Mackay.

Pretty bend road services the cattle stations heading out towards Collinsville. The hill is called Mt Roma and it is a rock face on the other side visible from the Proserpine dam when we go waterskiing.

Not too sure how this Dingo came to grief. There are a lot a camels around here, apparently the first telegraph lines were laid off the back of camels.

No, Ian, the riding stuff there is very interesting, please keep on posting.

Regarding the camels in Aus, the bloodline is very pure, and they are exported to Saudi, etc, for stock breeding.
