I am sure the T7 should be sold at a reasonable price in SA as its already 4 years old.

Yes, we may not even get the T7 after all.

Germans, Australians and other 1st world riders have been incredibly happy with theirs, and at least we can watch videos of this wonderful machine. :thumleft:

I have actually ended up buying an XcX Triumph I sold my GS last year and could not wait anymore.
And I actually love this triple, it does not have the torque but is more like a 2T in the dirt and it has fabulous suspension so I am very happy.
Pity Yamaha does not seem to think we are much of a market, but aren't really are we.

I see on that beautiful Tenere Tragics video by Sidetrack, that  Nick Sanders (Yammie brand ambassador) are doing a RTW trip (eight time) on a T700.
Apparently Nick received the very first T700 that rolled of the production floor.
He has done the RTW before on bicycle, Yamaha R1, SupaTen, Triumph etc.
And this time round it is also a charity event.
A man who has set a couple of records, and is known for stopping only to refuel.
How awesome is that.

I was thinking that Yamaha could take 50% non refundable deposits and then bring into the country based on confirmed order.....but I think it's incredibly expensive and takes a lot of effort for a manufacturer to do all the paperwork to bring a model into the market. This might be the stumbling block.

Never mind the staggering delay for SA to get it, the pricing now will prevent it for a while I think  ;)

Did Yamaha give you any specific instructions?

Yes, Iím scheduled to ride one-hundred-thousand KM and I will. The other instruction was to ride around the world, and I am.

just watching this as well. flippen good suspension info in there.

also shows that the T7 will definitely need suspension work if you weigh more than 70kg, with gear.

so its back to the old beating of a dead horse, great bike only if it comes in cheap.

But, where ever it has been released, it is coming in cheap.

It is selling overseas for considerable less than the opposition.

What is fact is that most buyers are not going to bother with the runaway and frankly silly thought that every bikes' suspension needs upgrading, and are going to enjoy the bike as it is.

If you want to use your T7 like the guy in the video, you are going to have to upgrade suspension.

One question to prove my point.......who on this forum has ever really jumped their big twin D/S bikes like the guy in the video.

And yes, do not bullshit. :pot:
