I see it's now on the BMW Motorrad site. No price yet.
Seems heated grips are optional.

https://www.bmw-motorrad.co.za/en/models/adventure/g310gs.html#/section-the-highlights-of-the-g-310-gs

So it's going to have 3 seat hight options. The 310R is 720mm seat height stock

Quote
The G 310 GS provides the right seat for every rider type and in doing so enables relaxed and stress-free riding. Alongside the standard seat height of just 835 mm, two other options are available as special accessories: a lower variant with 820 mm and a higher, particularly comfortable seat with a seat height of 850 mm.

Quote
No BMW motorcycle since 2013 has been without it: standard ABS. On the G 310 GS, it ensures safe braking manoeuvres on every journey together with the powerful brake pads. The ABS can be switched off for offroad use.

Quote
Length                                                   2,075 mm
Width (across hand levers)                   880 mm
Height (excluding mirrors)                   1,230 mm
Seat height, unladen                            835 mm
Rider step length, unladen                    1,870 mm
Unladen weight, fully fuelled/road-ready   169.5 kg       filled with all operating fluids, fuelled to at least 90% of usable tank capacity
Max. permitted weight                           345 kg
Max. load (with standard equipment)   175.5 kg
Usable tank capacity                           11 l
of which reserve                                    1 l

I'm quite keen to take this little bike for a test ride.

BMW G310GS Classic Concept.

BMW Motorrad is preparing to launch its premium naked streetfighter G310 in the Indian market later in 2017. Apart from that, the adventure tourer version of this bike, the BMW G310 GS is also expected to arrive in the market sometime during late this year. Inspired by the upcoming BMW model, automotive designer Oberdan Bezzi has rendered a scrambler based on the bike and christened it as BMW G310 GS Classic.

Yeah look...I'd walk in...see that....drool over it ask the price....if it's in line with the other bikes +-R70k is ask where do I sign.
I love the look of the little GS as well, but a Scrambler version would have me rushing to BMW to get onto that asap.

Interesting (outdated) design on the plastics.

It use the same design cue as the 'old' LC with the two 'wings' that follows the front forks.  It would have been SOOOO nice if that silver part looked like the new 2017 LC range.

Here is a nice high detail studio shots with close ups video of the 310GS.
There is no sound in the video.
But you can take a real good look at the bike on it other than seeing it in the flesh I recon.

The Indians/Chinese literally built small capacity 2wheeled transport for the highly undiscerning masses. Angola is filled with them.

Indeed and very clever as well.  See a market, explore that market.

What they are also good at is building to spec and as such can build a bike / car / TV / PC / whatever to any spec required.  So they build a crappy cheapy for a specific market and a good quality, even excellent quality product for a more discerning market.  There are already many examples of this.

I think you're flogging a dead horse trying to convince some okes about the whole offshore factory issue. A few have already mentioned that pretty much every brand does this these days, yet in some countries of manufacture they remain convinced it'll be crap.

Fact is, you can tell them that this 310 is being made by a German, in Germany, no in Bavaria nogal (Bayern, if you want to be pedantic) being sold at exactly the same price as currently advertised. i.e. less expensive than its competitors, and they will still hate it with a passion. That's what I see here, and as mentioned already, that is pretty sad.
