Was at Kaleo in the Koue Bokkeveld on Tuesday.

Almost lost a few fingers from the cold.

Quick ride up to Hans Se Kop today. We were lucky enough to have it snowing on us at the top.

Hehe, this was a once in a couple of years' opportunity. Couldn't pass it by. My feet are still frozen.

Managed an actual night away on Wednesday, but first a visit to Sheena's Tea Hut at Corran.  It's a bit of a mission to get to - even from my place in Inverness -  it is really remote by British standards.   But on a beautiful day it was well worth it, and the toasties and coffee were excellent.

The tea hut.

Corran village.  No cars allowed other than residents - you have to park up at the village hall and walk over the bridge.

There is a deck out front under a huge tree with nice views over the village or Loch Hourn.

The forecast was good, and accommodation prices are stupid at the moment on the west coast, so we took the tent and booked a night at Shieldaig.  We got a sublime spot, although I knew I was in for a rough night when some of the baffles on my mat blew.  One compensation - no midgies.  No one knows where they've gone, perhaps they caught Covid and died.  Hope so.

We bought a couple of pints and sat on the shore in the sun.

The bike seems to be running well - I put a new clutch in it last week, along with a crank and gearbox seal.  In the morning we set off through Torridon and around through Gairloch.  Traffic wasn't too bad all in all.  Plenty of bikes around.

The weather has been amazing - blue sky over Gruinard Island - famous for being the site of anthrax experiments during WW2.

Only about 500km, but a night and two days away in unbroken sunshine is a bit of a treat!
