Navigation options LC ADV
« on: November 24, 2016, 09:44:33 am »
I am looking to find out what you guys think re options for navigation on the LC. The Navigator from BMW Is way too expensive. I think I would enjoy the integration with the bike, but at that price...

1 - Which other gps units fit in the same cradle?
2 - Which other gps units do you use and how did it mount to the bike?

THanks

The navigator is a rebranded Zumo 660/665. with the exception of modified software to work with the bikes software and handlebar wheel.

So the Garmin will fit and charge on the cradle but will be as any other GPS and not work with the bikes software

Cheap.  Accurate.  Easy to use.  Easily upgradeable.  Needs no outside source of energy.  Get one now!   :ricky:

Zumo 660 works perfectly in the bike's cradle, but they have been discontinued and very difficult to find.  The new 595 (I think) is the replacement, but I am not sure if it will work in the GS cradle and it seems to be more expensive than the BMW Navigator.  The interface between the bike's ECU and the device is unimportant to me though.
